Erfurt Diocese to host concert of contemporary sacred music

The Erfurt Cathedral will host a concert of contemporary sacred music on October 31 at 19.30 to conclude this year's Kirchenmusiktage. The Mädchenchor am Erfurter Dom and the Erfurter Domchor will perform musical settings of ancient prayer texts.

The program includes the Magnificat by Norwegian composer Kim André Arnesen, performed in the original version for women's choir, orchestra, piano, and organ. The evening also features musical settings of the "Vater unser," the "Angele Dei" prayer, and "The Fruit of Silence" based on the words of Mother Teresa, composed by Pēteris Vasks.
