Bishop Tomasi consoles the faithful on All Saints' Day

Bishop Michele Tomasi of Treviso addressed the need for consolation during the Solemnity of All Saints on Sunday, November 1. During the morning homily, the bishop spoke about the suffering caused by war, loneliness, illness, and mourning. He specifically noted the community's grief following the recent sudden death of Father Siro Zorzi.

The bishop referenced Pope Leo XIV’s document, Magnifica Humanitas, noting the Pope's identification of a world becoming accustomed to permanent war. Reflecting on the Beatitudes, Bishop Tomasi stated that Jesus does not promise a life without tears but ensures that those who weep are not alone. He described the Church as a community called to be a chain of those who console and those who reconcile.

The bishop's reflections included the Eucharistic celebration at the Cathedral and the Liturgy of the Word with the blessing of graves. He described peace not as mere tranquility, but as a daily commitment.
