Bishop Vicent Ribas presides over thanksgiving Masses for beatification of 20 martyred priests

Bishop Vicent Ribas presided over thanksgiving Masses for the beatification of 20 martyred priests from the Diocese of Ibiza. The liturgical celebrations took place on October 24 and 25 at all parishes in Ibiza and Formentera.

These Masses followed the solemn beatification held on October 17. During a previous Mass on October 18 at the Ibiza Cathedral, Bishop Ribas described the martyrs, including Juan Torres Torres, as village priests and confessors who refused to renounce their faith despite being offered the chance to live if they had recanted. He stated that the men died for Christ and their people rather than for political causes.
