Card. Parolin: Pope Leo XIV to reajust his pontificate if necessary

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Cardinal Pietro Parolin said Pope Leo XIV will readjust his pontificate if necessary depending on how he recovers from a recent surgery.

The Vatican Secretary of State spoke about the Pope's health after visiting him at the hospital, where the Pope has been hospitalized since Tuesday following an operation to remove a lung nodule. While Parolin told reporters he found the Pope doing well and that the Pope's condition matched official bulletins, he later expressed continued concern regarding the situation.

Parolin noted that no predictions can be made because the Pope has only been hospitalized for two days. He stated that future plans depend on when the Pope returns and the advice of doctors.
