Co Leon XIV powiedział Francji o człowieku? Społeczne przesłanie pierwszego dnia wizyty

Pope Leo XIV delivered two social addresses during the first day of his visit to France, speaking to government officials at the Élysée Palace and to representatives of science, culture, and diplomacy at UNESCO.

During his speech at UNESCO, the pope emphasized human interdependence, noting that everyone begins life in a state of need for food, care, and love. He argued that human value should not be measured by independence or productivity, asserting that illness and suffering do not diminish a person's dignity. He specifically highlighted that the most vulnerable people suffer most when solidarity is lacking.

At the Élysée Palace, the pope addressed the protection of life and the role of caregivers as witnesses to a society that accepts human fragility. He warned against treating science and technology as profit-driven ventures that allow for the trading of essential human needs or the promotion of planned death. He also cautioned that the development of artificial intelligence requires constant attention to human dignity.
