Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV met with a group of Ukrainian women during a general audience to discuss the plight of those missing or imprisoned. The group included Yulia, Olesya, Alla, Violetta, Tetiana, and 5 other women who serve as presidents or collaborators for organizations in Ukraine.

The women presented the Pope with a note and a painting sent by a soldier in a Kharkiv trench. In an interview with Vatican Radio, they spoke about the suffering caused by the imprisonment in Russia of their husbands, brothers, and partners. They stated that the Pope's support encourages them to continue fighting for the return of all missing persons to their homes.
