Diocese of Santarém Hosts Annual Youth Encounter

Approximately 80 young people attended the annual Maria do Ribatejo encounter held from October 23 to 25 in Alcobertas, within the Rio Maior vicariate. The event brought together members of the Equipas de Jovens de Nossa Senhora of the Santarém sector, along with couples and the diocesan assistant.

Participants reflected on the theme "Build on the Rock," focusing on the importance of building life upon Jesus Christ. The program included 24 hours of continuous Eucharistic adoration.

The youth also performed service projects for the local community. These activities included helping with the olive harvest, painting a building, and visiting local residents through a door-to-door initiative.
