Diocese of Vitoria participates in alcohol addiction conference

The Diocese of Vitoria joined representatives from regional and local governments at a technical conference on alcohol addiction held on October 29 in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Organized by the Jeiki Foundation, the event at the Palacio de Villa Suso brought together social and health professionals from Álava and the surrounding region.

Vicario General Carlos García Llata joined Gorka Oraa, Ana López de Uralde, and Gorka Urtaran to discuss the challenges of alcohol addiction. The session began with remarks from Jeiki manager Teresa Gastón, who remembered victims of a railway accident in Toledo.

The conference included presentations on alcohol as a public health issue by Aránzazu Fernández Rodríguez from the University of Oviedo. Other speakers, including Francisco Pascual Pastor and Antoni Gual, addressed the physical and psychological disorders resulting from alcohol use.
