Diplomazia Pontificia, Leone XIV in Francia, Parolin a New York

Pope Leo XIV visited UNESCO on September 25 to discuss the role of religion in culture and the risks of artificial intelligence. During his visit to the agency, the Pope spoke about the potential for technology to dehumanize human conscience and argued that religious traditions provide a necessary cultural foundation. He stated that religions address fundamental questions regarding the beginning and end of life, helping to guide human actions toward a common search for meaning.

The Pope's visit follows his meeting with the diplomatic corps and civil society on September 25, where he discussed the principles of healthy secularism. This trip occurs while Cardinal Pietro Parolin is in New York. Parolin has been in New York since September 20 to hold bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Vietnam and the Ukrainian minister, and he is scheduled to speak at the United Nations General Assembly on September 26.
