Dom Geovane delivers homily at Ronivon Amorim's ordination

Bishop Geovane delivered a homily during the ordination of Ronivon Amorim to the priesthood for the Diocese of Divinópolis.

During the ceremony, the bishop told the new priest that the sacrament of holy orders is an extraordinary grace that allows men to participate in the priesthood of Christ as guides and pastors for the people. He noted that this calling is a gift rather than a personal merit.

The bishop urged the new priest and the local Church to maintain a missionary spirit by being present in pastoral communities and the peripheries of the diocese. He warned that priests must avoid treating ministry like a business or a job where people are hired and discarded, stating that ministers are instead eternal debtors to God.
