Facultad de Teología San Isidoro de Sevilla to host formation day for catechists on sensory disability

The Facultad de Teología San Isidoro de Sevilla will host the III Jornada de Catequesis y Personas con Discapacidad on Saturday, 14 November. This session focuses on the accompaniment of people with sensory disability.

The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Aula Juan Guillén at the faculty on Cardenal Bueno Monreal, 43. Doors open at 10 a.m.

María de la Peña Madrid, a member of the Vicaría de la Nueva Evangelización de Sevilla and a collaborator in the Área de la Discapacidad of the Comisión de Evangelización, Catequesis y Catecumenado of the Conferencia Episcopal Española, will lead the training. Father Gumersindo Melo, a member of the same Vicaría and head of the Pastoral del Sordo of the Archidiócesis de Sevilla, will also participate.

Father Óscar Díaz, the vicario episcopal for the Nueva Evangelización, said the objective is for no one to feel like a stranger in their own home. The program provides catechists with training and practical resources to help them welcome and accompany all people in the announcement of the Gospel.
