Diocese of Treviso holds ecumenical celebration for creation care and peace

The Diocese of Treviso held an ecumenical celebration for peace and the care of creation on Sunday, September 27, at the diocesan seminary. Organized by the diocesan offices for ecumenism and interreligious dialogue and social pastoral care, the event brought together various Christian denominations to pray for the protection of the environment.

Participants began at the minor cloister with an exhibition inspired by the encyclical Laudato Si’, before moving to a garden along the Sile river. The service included readings, songs, and prayers led by various religious leaders.

Bishop Michele joined several pastors in the service, including Father George Mihail of the Church of S. Martino di Lupari, Pastor Alessandro Sanfelici, Father Marius Kociorva from the parish of “Santi Cosma e Damiano” in Treviso, Father Iohan Ciobanu of the Church of Fontane, and Pastor Johannes Ruschke of the Church of Venezia and Treviso. Father Paolo Magoga, director of the office for social pastoral care and creation, and Father Luca Pertile, the diocesan representative for dialogue with Orthodox Churches, also attended.
