JD Vance to consider 2028 presidential run

U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on Oct. 21 that he has not decided whether to run for president in 2028. Speaking to EWTN News host Raymond Arroyo on the Arroyo Grande podcast, Vance stated he will think seriously about a potential campaign once the 2026 midterm elections conclude.

Vance noted that his family and his four small children are factors in his decision. He said he intends to make a determination after consulting with his wife, his pastor, and through personal deliberation. He added that he has not yet felt a specific call from God regarding a presidential run but will listen for direction.

During the interview, Vance said his faith influences his views on public policy and calls him to be more charitable toward people. He said he currently feels called to promote the common good through his present role.
