Pope Leo XIV to visit Metz

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV will visit Metz on Monday, September 28, as the final stop of his state visit to France. The visit includes a meeting titled "At the Roots of Europe for Peace and Unity" in the birthplace of Robert Schuman, a founding father of the European Union.

A delegation from the Fraternité Européenne d’Étudiants, a group dedicated to Schuman, will participate in the meeting. Axel Raynaud, a member of the delegation, stated that young people believe in a continent that promotes peace rather than one functioning merely as a market or administrative system.

The Pope's visit to the city also includes a stop at the Metz Cathedral. The trip to France, which runs from September 25 to September 28, also includes visits to Paris and Lourdes.
