Conférence des évêques de France and Miviludes sign partnership against sectarian drifts

The Conference of Bishops of France and the Interministerial Mission for Vigilance and Combatting Sectarian Drifts (Miviludes) signed a partnership agreement on October 6 to combat manipulation and undue influence. This agreement builds on several years of cooperation between the state and the Catholic Church.

The partnership focuses on exchanging information, providing training, and improving how the Church directs people seeking help. Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline, president of the Conference of Bishops of France, said the agreement will help the Church better analyze factors that allow sectarian drifts to emerge and will help sensitize diocesan communities to improve prevention.

The Conference of Bishops of France is the third religious body to enter into this partnership with Miviludes. The signing took place under the patronage of Marie-Pierre Vedrenne, the minister delegate for citizenship to the minister of the interior.
