First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV will visit the Diocese of Chiclayo in Peru, returning to the region where he previously served as a bishop. Bishop Edinson Farfán Córdova, O.S.A. said the announcement of the visit has brought joy and hope to the local people.

The Diocese of Lima released a video series titled "Leo XIV Returns Home" to prepare for the apostolic journey. The series features testimonies from priests, religious sisters, laypeople, and choir members regarding the pastoral impact of the Pope's eight years of service in the diocese.

Bishop Farfán noted that the Pope previously mentioned his connection to the diocese during his election. The upcoming visit is intended to confirm the faith of the people in the Lambayeque region.
