Pope Leo XIV visits UNESCO

Pope Leo XIV visited the UNESCO headquarters in Paris to address the challenges of communication, education, and artificial intelligence.

During his visit, the Pope noted that while communication has become faster, it is not necessarily more truthful, and abundant information does not equate to wisdom. He stated that artificial intelligence can correlate data but cannot answer questions regarding the meaning of human life, which is rooted in lived experience. He described the search for truth as a matter of social justice and historical equity.

The Pope proposed a humanism based on three fundamental human experiences: filiality, necessity, and magnificence. He explained that filiality refers to how humans exist within a chain of generations they did not choose.
