First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV entered Policlínico Gemelli at 1:07 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, to undergo surgery for a lung nodule. A thoracic surgery team led by Professor Stefano Margaritor is scheduled to perform the procedure during the afternoon.

Witnesses reported the Pope arrived in a serene manner, appearing to be in good health and maintaining his usual smile. The arrival drew crowds of journalists and faithful supporters to the hospital.

Bishop Artur Ważny asked priests and the faithful to support the Pope through prayer. He specifically requested that clergy include petitions for the Pope's successful surgery and health in the prayers of the faithful and during Rosary devotions.
