Archdiocese of Avignon to host conferences on Pope Leo XIV's encyclical "Magnifique Humanité" and AI

The pastoral sector of Apt in the Archdiocese of Avignon will host a series of conferences from November 2026 through March 2027 to examine artificial intelligence and Pope Leo XIV's encyclical, Magnifique Humanité.

The program begins on November 18, 2026, with a session led by Alexandre Pottier and Delphine Hubert, founders of La Terre en tête, to discuss how artificial intelligence functions. Following this, Father Denis Le Pivain will lead four sessions at the Apt presbytery to analyze specific chapters of the encyclical.

Father Le Pivain will discuss the Church's social teaching on January 20, 2027, focusing on the first two chapters of the document. He will then address the relationship between the human person and artificial intelligence on February 3, 2027, followed by a session on truth, work, and freedom on February 17, 2027. The series concludes on March 10, 2027, with a discussion on artificial intelligence and power. All meetings are scheduled for 18h30 at 98 rue René Cassin in Apt.
