Archbishop José Domingo Ulloa visits earthquake-affected communities in Panama

Archbishop José Domingo Ulloa Mendieta conducted a pastoral visit on Tuesday to communities affected by the October 9 earthquake. The tour included the Diocese of Penonomé and the parishes of San Carlos Borromeo and San José de Chame.

During the visit, Archbishop Ulloa expressed solidarity with Bishop Edgardo Cedeño and the people of Coclé. He noted that the earthquake caused damage to homes and structural issues in local churches. The Archbishop stated that rebuilding these buildings involves more than physical reconstruction, as temples serve as historical memory and essential spaces for the sacraments and community life.

The Archbishop reiterated the commitment of the Church to accompany families through the recovery process following the seismic event.
