Obispos de México convocan jornada de oración por la salud del Papa León XIV

Mexican bishops are calling for a day of prayer from October 12 to 18 to support the health of Pope Leo XIV. The Mexican Episcopate Conference (CEM) invited Catholic faithful, parishes, religious communities, and families across the country to pray for the Pope's recovery through the Eucharist, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Rosary.

The call for prayer follows the Pope's announcement during an Angelus prayer at St. Peter's Square that doctors discovered a small, localized nodule in his lung. He stated that he decided to undergo surgery to remove the nodule following medical advice.

Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to be admitted to the Hospital Gemelli on Tuesday, October 13, for the surgery. In a statement released October 12, the CEM expressed a desire to show filial affection and the strength of their prayer by entrusting the Pope to the protection of Santa María de Guadalupe.
