Father Wagner Ferreira celebrates 55 years with Mass of thanksgiving

Father Wagner Ferreira, president of the John Paul II Foundation, celebrated his 55th birthday with a Mass of thanksgiving on Wednesday morning, October 28. The celebration took place at the Santuário do Pai das Misericórdias at the Canção Nova headquarters in Cachoeira Paulista.

Bishop Carlos Lema Garcia, an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of São Paulo and spiritual director to Father Ferreira, presided over the liturgy. The Mass occurred on the feast of the apostles São Simão, o Zelote, and São Judas Tadeu.

During his homily, Bishop Lema Garcia spoke about the mission entrusted to the apostles by Jesus and noted that this call extends to all baptized Christians. He reflected on the selection of the 12, noting that Jesus spent a night in prayer before choosing them to continue the mission of the Church.
