Pope Leo XIV sends message to March for Life in Bratislava

Pope Leo XIV sent a message to the fifth National March for Life held in Bratislava, Slovakia, on September 20, 2026. Archbishop Nicola Girasoli, the papal nuncio to Slovakia, read the message to participants.

In the message, the Pope called for the protection of life from conception to natural death. He encouraged people to build a culture that cares for the most fragile and defenseless to help create a more fraternal and solidary society. He expressed his hope that the event would serve as a moment of prayer and witness to awaken awareness of life as a gift from God.

More than 30,000 people, including families, young people, and citizens from various regions of Slovakia, attended the march in the capital. The event aims to promote the intrinsic dignity of every human being and advocate for the legal protection of the unborn, support for mothers in difficulty, and opposition to abortion and euthanasia.
