Pope Leo XIV to pray Rosary with 1,000 children in Vatican Gardens

Pope Leo XIV will pray the Rosary for peace with 700 to 1,000 children on October 1 at 17:00 in the Vatican Gardens. According to InfoVaticana, the children attending the event come from various schools and parishes in Rome.

The gathering marks the start of the World Week of Prayer, which runs from October 1 to October 7. This event also launches the "One Million Children Praying the Rosary" campaign, a project run for over twenty years by the pontifical foundation Ayuda a la Iglesia que Sufre (ACN). The campaign will now span a full week to allow dioceses, parishes, religious communities, and families to participate on the day that suits them best.

While the Pope prays in the Vatican, Christian communities and families from many countries will join the prayer for peace and unity. Planned celebrations include children from the Kosti Pastoral Region in Sudan, an indigenous Tsimane community in the Bolivian Amazon, and St. Christopher parish in the Archdiocese of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
