Education pastoral agents meet with Bishop Carlos Lema Garcia

The Education Pastoral of the Archdiocese of São José do Rio Preto held a formation meeting on Saturday, October 31, at Santa Luzia Parish. The gathering included local agents and leaders from the Dioceses of Barretos, Catanduva, Jales, and Votuporanga. Father Rafael Oliveira hosted the event.

Bishop Carlos Lema Garcia, an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of São Paulo and a reference for the Education Pastoral, presided over the Eucharistic celebration. During his reflections, the bishop discussed the meaning of life, interiority, and the challenges of new technologies based on the teachings of Pope Leo XIV.

Bishop Garcia spoke about the importance of helping students reflect on fundamental questions regarding their identity and purpose. He stated that schools should help children and adolescents discover the meaning of their existence and recognize their unique value. He also addressed the need to prepare students for life's difficulties, noting that avoiding frustration can prevent people from learning from defeat and becoming unprepared for reality.
