Pope Leo XIV addresses International Congress on School and University Pastoral Care

Pope Leo XIV addressed participants of the International Congress on School and University Pastoral Care during a special audience in the Paul VI Hall at the Vatican.

The Pope congratulated those working in academic and educational institutions for their support of the Gospel and human dignity. He stated that school and university ministry must respond to the inner desires of students and accompany them on a human and Christian journey.

In his address, the Pope noted that while students often show enthusiasm and a spirit of service, many also face existential hardships. He identified broken families, digital loneliness, feelings of inadequacy, and fear regarding an uncertain future as specific challenges facing students.
