Pope Leo XIV grants plenary indulgence on 100th World Mission Day

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV granted a plenary indulgence to the faithful on October 18 to mark the 100th World Mission Day. This indulgence allows believers to receive the remission of the temporal punishment for sins.

To obtain the indulgence, the faithful must pray the Rosary for the spread of the Gospel in the world and fulfill the usual conditions of confession, Eucharistic communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Pope.

World Mission Day was established by Pope Pius XI in 1926. This year's centenary celebration carries the theme "One in Christ, united in mission." During the Angelus prayer, Pope Leo XIV called on the Church to remain faithful to the mandate to proclaim the Gospel to all creation.
