Vatican Journey to France

Pope Leo XIV tells France's authorities: Pave the way for peace!

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV urged French authorities to act as tireless advocates for peace and multilateralism during a visit to the Elysee Palace on September 25. Addressing public figures, civil society representatives, and the diplomatic corps, the pope called on France to pave the way for global peace.

During his address, the pope noted the restoration of the Notre-Dame Cathedral and spoke about the Christian roots of the country. He stated that true laicism does not exclude a religious dimension and warned that science and technology run the risk of becoming merely profitable enterprises.
