Pope Leo XIV receives Federation of Capuchin Poor Clares of Italy

Pope Leo XIV met with the Assembly of the Federation of Capuchin Poor Clares of Italy at the Vatican Apostolic Palace on September 21, 2026.

During the audience, the Pope commended the federation for its work in revising and updating its Constitutions. He noted that these documents incorporate contributions from many members and reaffirm that the primary task of all religious is the contemplation of divine realities and constant prayer.

The Pope described the federation's response to its calling as a commitment to fidelity through contemplative prayer, poverty, and adherence to the Gospel, following the charism of Saint Clare and Saint Francis.
