Pope Leo XIV publishes message for 10th World Day of the Poor

Pope Leo XIV published a message for the 10th World Day of the Poor, which will take place on November 15, 2026. The day was originally established by Pope Francis.

In his message, Pope Leo XIV noted that the poor are essential to the life of the Church and expressed hope that this tenth anniversary helps communities rediscover those seeking refuge in God. He described the poor of the modern era as marginalized people who lack not only food but also a voice and a sense of being seen.

The Pope also addressed the spiritual and moral poverty in contemporary society, suggesting that the absence of God leads to domination and oppression rather than mutual respect. He called on the Christian community to avoid being indifferent to those who are excluded or left at the door.
