Pope Leo XIV sends message to G20 Interfaith Forum

Pope Leo XIV sent a message to the G20 Interfaith Forum calling for the protection of human dignity, religious freedom, and the common good. Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican Secretary of State, delivered the message on behalf of the Pope during the forum's opening ceremony on October 15 in Salt Lake City.

Archbishop Gabriele Caccia, the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, addressed religious leaders, scholars, and policymakers at the event. He stated that technological progress and innovation must be judged by whether they serve the human person, noting that technology alone cannot define what is good.

The forum, themed Resilient Hope, Shared Future, runs from October 15 to 17 at the Tabernacle at Temple Square. The gathering brings together various faith traditions and civil society representatives to discuss how religious perspectives can help address global challenges ahead of the G20 leaders' summit.
