Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV thanked the faithful for their prayers and expressed gratitude to the medical staff at Gemelli Hospital during the Angelus prayer at St. Peter's Square. His remarks came less than 24 hours after he left the hospital following a lung operation.

The pope told the crowd that the experience helped him feel closer to people experiencing illness and fragility. He noted that he will gradually return to his regular activities.
