Pope Leo XIV to hold general audience on Wednesday

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV will hold a general audience in St. Peter's Square on Wednesday morning, according to the Holy See Press Office. The event is confirmed as the Pope continues his recovery at the Apostolic Palace following surgery to remove a lung adenocarcinoma on October 13.

The Pope was discharged from Gemelli Hospital on Saturday, October 17, after a five-day stay. He is remaining in the Vatican to continue his recuperation instead of traveling to his residence in Castel Gandolfo. On Sunday, October 18, he greeted 15,000 people from the window of the Apostolic Palace during the Angelus prayer.

Officials have not disclosed whether the Pope will use the popemobile to travel through the crowd during the Wednesday audience.
