Pope Leo XIV to visit Paris

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV visits Paris on Friday, September 25, 2026, to meet with local communities and visit several landmarks. The visit begins with seven minutes of bell ringing to welcome the Pope.

The Pope is scheduled to visit Notre-Dame, marking the first time a pontiff has visited the cathedral since its reopening. His itinerary includes a visit to Maison Bakhita to observe social integration efforts and a trip to Saint-Denis to address material poverty. The day will conclude with a vigil alongside thousands of young people in Saint-Denis.

While local parishes have decorated with Vatican colors, cath.ch reports that the atmosphere in the streets remains one of quiet curiosity rather than intense fervor.
