Pope Leo XIV issues message for 100th World Mission Day

Pope Leo XIV has released a message for the 100th World Mission Day titled "One in Christ, United in Mission."

Missionaries from the Villaregia Missionary Community in the Apostolic Prefecture of Robe, Ethiopia, reflected on the message regarding their work in Ghinnir. The community noted that the Pope's words emphasize unity among disciples and the necessity of proclaiming Jesus Christ.

The missionaries suggested that in areas where direct proclamation is difficult, mission can occur through listening, collaboration, and building trust within local communities. They referenced Pope Paul VI’s apostolic exhortation Evangelii Nuntiandi and the 1991 document Dialogue and Proclamation to suggest that dialogue and working for the common good create the conditions for credible Christian witness.
