Catholics pray to San Peregrino for Pope Leo XIV's health

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Catholics are praying to Saint Peregrine Laziosi for the health of Pope Leo XIV as he recovers from lung cancer surgery at Gemelli Hospital in Rome.

Many believers are turning to the 14th-century Servite priest, traditionally known as the saint of cancer. According to a report from Father Lawrence G. Lovasik, SVD, published by EWTN, Peregrine was born in Forlì, Italy, in 1260. He later joined the Servites after an encounter with a friar. Peregrine eventually became a well-known preacher and confessor in his hometown.
