First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

A former student at the Notre-Dame de Bétharram school has accused the late Pierre-Marie Théas, former bishop of Lourdes, of sexual abuse.

According to an investigation published by Mediapart on September 19, the man alleges that Théas raped him in 1971 while he was a student at the school. Because the former bishop died in 1977, the diocese stated that no investigation or trial can take place to establish the truth.
