Claretian Missionary Superior General highlights faith and values of Panamanian students

Priscilla Latela, the superior general of the Claretian Missionaries, noted the Catholic identity and faith of students at Colegio Claret during a canonical visit to Panama. During her visit, she met with Archbishop José Domingo Ulloa Mendieta of Panama on Wednesday, October 28.

Latela observed that the students engage in daily contact with the Word of God and practice values such as respect, mutual aid, forgiveness, and acceptance. She stated that Catholic education should support both academic learning and the human and spiritual growth of students. She noted that these values of fraternity serve as a testimony to the need for solidarity and peace in society.

The visit to Panama is part of a canonical tour Latela is conducting with other sisters of the congregation during her six-year term as superior general. The group arrived in the country on Sunday, October 25.
