Pope Leo XIV to meet few abuse victims in France

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV plans to meet with a small number of abuse victims during his visit to France, a decision that has drawn criticism from victim advocates.

Marie Derain de Vaucresson, president of the independent recognition body Inirr, called the limited meeting a missed opportunity in Paris. She stated that the Church should provide a collective response to the systemic nature of abuse rather than holding only individual conversations. Derain de Vaucresson suggested that a larger meeting could have allowed more victims to agree on a structured, collective message.
