Vita, penitenza ed eternità: il messaggio di Leone XIV da Lourdes

Pope Leo XIV addressed bishops, the sick, and approximately 150,000 pilgrims in Lourdes on Sunday, September 28, 2026. During his visit, the Pope spoke about sin, penance, reparation, and eternal life. He defended the sanctity of life against movements that seek to redefine its value in the context of illness or old age.

The Pope told French bishops that the Church has the right to evangelize, educate, practice public worship, and perform charity in the name of Jesus Christ. He requested that the Church maintain its voice within French society. Earlier that morning, the Pope met with French bishops to discuss the relationship between the Church and the Republic.
