History
The present Diocese of Linares in Mexico (Latin: Dioecesis Linarina), erected on 30 April 1962, is a Latin Church suffragan within the province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Monterrey. That metropolitan see was itself founded in 1777 under the name Diocese of Linares, a title it kept until the change to Monterrey in 1922. The cathedra of the new diocese rests in the Linares Cathedral in the see city of Linares, Nuevo León.
