Serving the Long Island region of New York State, the Diocese of Rockville Centre (Latin: Dioecesis Petropolitana in Insula Longa, lit. 'Diocese of Rockville on Long Island') was founded in 1957 from territory that had belonged to the Diocese of Brooklyn. A suffragan of the Archdiocese of New York, it has its cathedral at St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre, New York. John Barres is the bishop.
