Archbishop Lauro Tisi leads Diocesan Missionary Vigil in Rovereto

Archbishop Lauro Tisi led a diocesan missionary vigil on Friday, October 23, at the Sacra Famiglia church in Rovereto. The event marked the beginning of a journey toward the centenary of missionary pastoral work in the Diocese of Trento, which will conclude in November 2027.

The vigil followed the theme "One in Christ, united in mission." People walked from five different points in the city to the church, carrying symbols representing welcome, compassion, service, and sharing. Six testimonies were shared to represent different aspects of mission, including Ettore, a layperson; Marilena, a Caritas volunteer; Victorine, a migrant woman; fra Oscar, a missionary in Tanzania; Letizia, a member of Word listening groups; and the youth of Sermig of Mori.

Archbishop Tisi described the gathering as a strong moment and a sign of God's action. He noted that the diocese had not held such an intense missionary event in several years. The vigil also took place during the archbishop's pastoral visit to Vallagarina.
