Bishop Marshall serves as Apostolic Administrator of Diocese of Shreveport

Bishop Robert Marshall will serve as the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Shreveport until a new bishop is appointed and installed. Pope Leo XIV made the appointment, according to a message from Bishop Marshall.

Bishop Marshall will continue his current role as the Bishop of Alexandria while ministering to the priests, deacons, religious, and laity of North Louisiana. He noted that his experience serving in the sparsely populated areas of the Diocese of Memphis prepares him for the small towns and communities within the Diocese of Shreveport.

In his message, Bishop Marshall stated he intends to learn about the local people and pray for the future appointment of a permanent bishop.
