Bp Artur Ważny publishes pastoral letter

Bishop Artur Ważny issued a pastoral letter for the 25th Ordinary Sunday (Year A) addressing the future of the Diocese of Sosnowiec. In the letter, published September 20, 2026, the bishop spoke about the declining number of priests, the merging of parishes, the responsibilities of laypeople, the synod, and the need for new vocations.

Ważny urged the faithful to overcome fear and apathy, noting that empty church pews and the exhaustion of pastors can lead to pessimism. He called on the community to move toward one another to build the Church together.
