Diocese of Jaén participates in 47th National Lay Apostolate Journeys

Representatives from the Diocese of Jaén attended the 47th National Days of Lay Apostolate held in Madrid on October 24 and 25. Antonio José Campos and Alberto de Castro represented the diocese at the gathering.

The event, organized by the Episcopal Commission for Laity, Family, and Life of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, brought together more than 120 delegates from diocesan lay apostolates and various lay movements and associations across Spain. More than 1,250 people participated online to hear a presentation by Cardinal José Cobo, the Archbishop of Madrid.

The meeting focused on the Social Doctrine of the Church and the role of Christians in public life. Participants discussed ways to strengthen communion among lay leaders and how to respond to societal challenges through the Gospel. Archbishop Carlos Escribano Subías of Zaragoza, who serves as president of the Episcopal Commission for Laity, Family, and Life, opened the event with prayer and a greeting to the attendees.
