Church leaders in Lima prepare for Pope Leo XIV visit

Priests, religious, lay movements, and representatives of pastoral commissions from the Province of Lima attended a second preparatory meeting for the upcoming apostolic visit of Pope Leo XIV to Peru. Participants reviewed organizational progress and discussed the mission of evangelization.

Cardinal Carlos Castillo noted the Pope's good health and stated that the visit is part of the Church renewal process initiated by the Second Vatican Council. He said the trip aligns with the project the Pope has organized for his pontificate. The cardinal encouraged the community to move beyond religious customs toward concrete actions of service and to respond to social problems through the Gospel.
