Bishop of Huelva presides over Eucharist

Bishop Santiago Gómez Sierra presided over a Mass to mark the start of the 2026-2027 academic year at the University of Huelva on September 18. The celebration took place at the Santa María Sedes Sapientiae University Church.

During his homily on the parable of the talents, Bishop Gómez Sierra encouraged students, professors, and researchers to use their gifts to serve the truth and society. He stated that the Eucharist serves as a school of life where knowledge and talents reach fulfillment through service to others.

The Mass included representatives from the university and other institutions. Attendees included the university pastoral delegate Enrique Uzcátegui Rodríguez, the rector of the diocesan seminary Juan José Feria Toscano, and priest Ignacio Virseda.
