Bishop Salvador Giménez Valls presides over Eucharist in Llucena

Bishop Salvador Giménez Valls presided over a Mass in Llucena on Tuesday, September 29, to begin religious festivities for the town's co-patron, Saint Michael the Archangel. The celebration included several priests, such as parish priest Héctor Gozalbo.

During his homily, Giménez Valls, the bishop emeritus of Lleida, spoke about the figure of Saint Michael and the meaning of the three archangels celebrated by the Church. He described Saint Michael as a protector and defender with a historical connection to the town. He also mentioned the traditional songs dedicated to Saint Michael used in Llucena, noting that their lyrics reflect moments in the history of salvation.

Giménez Valls encouraged the faithful to live with authenticity and hope, specifically asking families to teach children about Saint Michael and Jesus Christ. The religious celebrations for the town's patrons, which also include Saint Hermolao, continued with a Mass scheduled for Thursday, October 1.
