Bishop Francisco Conesa will explain the meaning of a diocesan synod on November 5

Bishop Francisco Conesa, the bishop of Solsona, will give a lecture on the nature of a diocesan synod at the San Sebastián Diocesan Seminary on November 5. The session is scheduled from 18:30 to 20:00 at the seminary located at Paseo de Hériz, 82. The event is intended for laypeople and members of consecrated life.

Bishop Conesa serves as the reference for the Synod of Bishops for the Spanish Episcopal Conference, a role he was appointed to in April 2025. In this capacity, he leads the team accompanying the synodal process within the Church in Spain. He also presides over the Episcopal Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Born in Elche in 1961, Conesa was ordained a priest in 1985 and holds doctorates in theology and philosophy from the University of Navarra. He previously served as vicar general in the Diocese of Orihuela-Alicante from 1998 to 2014. He was ordained a bishop for Menorca in 2017 and has been the bishop of Solsona since 2022.
